The ABCs of Me layout for NSBD blog challenge

I was invited to do a layout for Sketches {by Tamara} for her National Scrapbooking Day event. My challenge was to journal in alphabet list format. It certainly was a challenge! I decided to do a layout about me - something I've never done before. I think I had more fun with the layout design than the journaling. It was hard to come up with words about me for the 26 letters of the alphabet. Despite that, I really enjoyed making this.

I got my layout inspiration from the #105 sketch and a layout by Bethany on the Sketches {by Tamara} blog (Feb. 2 post). The photo I wanted to use was low res, so the first thing I did was play around with some filters in Photoshop Elements 3. I used a filter called film grain to give my photo a grainy effect. I printed it on vellum to soften it. I originally was going to handwrite my journaling on strips and use letter stickers for the alphabet. Unfortunately, 26 journaling strips don't fit in the space to the right of the photo. I moved on to plan B, which was to type a journaling box in Word and print it on vellum. It came out a little small but I didn't want it to hide the blue flowered paper.

I'm pretty happy with the end result, especially with how the photo came out. I also like that I was able to use a bunch of alphabet stickers and flowers that I've had for awhile!
