Recipe: Chicken & Tortellini with Creamy Garlic Sauce

Yum.

This is one of my favorite meals. The sauce recipe came from the back of a box of San Giorgio pasta. The rest came from me. I double the recipe to feed my family of four and get some leftovers out of it.

12 oz bag of frozen cheese tortellini
1 lb cooked chicken, cut into bite size pieces
2 cups cooked broccoli
2 tablespoons butter
2 large garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons flour
3/4 cup chicken or beef broth
3/4 cup milk or light cream
2 teaspoons dried parsley flakes
salt and pepper, to taste
1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese

Cook tortellini according to package directions.
Meanwhile, in small saucepan, melt butter; add garlic. Cook over medium heat 1 minute. Add flour; cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Stir in broth and milk or cream. Cook, stirring frequently, until sauce boils and thickens. Add remaining ingredients; stir until cheese is melted and chicken & broccoli are hot.
Toss tortellini with sauce; serve immediately.

Bon appetit
